Symphony Kiosk · Tangible Interaction

Classical music concerts are part of our cultural heritage, however young adults between the ages of 19 and 39 seem less interested in classical music and thus attendance to such events has been declining.

We investigate young adults' motivations to attend classical music concerts through a series of studies (i.e., questionnaires, field observations, and interviews). In a co-design session workshop based on dialogue-labs, we devise a tangible interaction kiosk that allows people to obtain information on upcoming classical music concerts, express their intention to attend, and print out info to invite others to attend the concert with them.
